Closing of Taimen Season 2017
Mongolian Summer - Fishing Results
This year's Taimen season was marked by an extraordinary productive spring season with low and crystal-clear waters right from the opening, - perfect conditions for the fly-fisher as for the spin-fishing sportsman with light tackle. The fall season, however, began with swollen rivers after heavy rainfalls in summer time.
By early September the mountain rivers across northern Mongolia began to clear quickly and the water levels dropped slowly but gradually. - The "Time of Great Taimen" in the fall fishing season finally commenced.
Most of our drawn Taimen licenses have been filled again, only a very few of our valued fishing guests remained without a Taimen in the trophy class (100 - 129 cm), while some have landed their fish of a lifetime with us, a mature Taimen in the record class (130 - 160 cm) ...
The best Taimen specimen caught & released by our guided clients in the 2017 fall season :
On the river Delger Moron, - 127 cm (51 inches)
On the Shishkid, Camp Khanagai, - 126 cm on fly (50 inches)
- 132 cm on spinner (53 inches)
On the Tengis river, Camp Tengis, - 136 cm on fly (54 inches),
- 143 cm on spinner (57 inches)
On the Selenge river, - 123 cm (49 inches)
On the Eg-Uur river, - 139 cm (55 inches)
On the Khalkhyn river, - 105 cm (42 inches)
Our special thanks to the great People of Mongolia, to the faithful native staff at the Taimen camps, and to our fine sportsmen clients from all over the world, who make each Taimen season a successful one !
We are already looking forward to the Taimen fishing with our returning clients in the upcoming spring season of 2018.
